I stumbled onto this amazing video of a seven-year-old working to solve a Rubik’s Cube. Once the timer starts, the boy begins studying the cube but doesn’t make any moves. It’s not until a minute and half in that you realize what is actually happening — he was studying the cube, strategizing before solving the puzzle blindfolded.
This video is such a good reminder of the power of utilizing a proper plan of action. He spent the majority of the time planning, but the actual execution took under a minute.
Imagine if you took this approach with your business plan.
Carving out time to write a business plan, set actionable goals or craft the perfect marketing plan does take time. And it’s easily the task we put off the most. But taking the time to establish a plan will give you a clear blueprint for your business.
Your plan doesn’t have to be a dissertation with charts and graphs, but it should outline clear and measurable goals and how you plan to accomplish them. You will get busy. You will get pulled in a million directions. But with a clear plan in place, you can keep yourself on track to tackle your goals one at a time.
We can’t see it in the video, but I’m sure this kid genius has a solid team of supporters behind him. You need this too. Lean on your Broker, a close friend or even a fellow agent. Give them a copy of your plan and make them an accountability partner.
